Snowman Season and Wednesday Sketch Challenge

My little stamp space in the corner of our family room has been a happy, busy place recently.  Good thing I stamp mostly when everyone is at work and school because I talk to myself!  I'll try something and love it so much that I'll burst out, "That is SO pretty!" or "Ooooh, I can't stand the cuteness!"  Lily my pup, who snoozes on a giant pink beanbag next to me, will even get startled occasionally.  Stamping is not a quiet hobby here.

Here's this week's sketch on which my card is based.

Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge 774

My mind immediately went to LAYERS.  The more the better!  And since I had Snowman Season on my desk, that's what I used, along with some other super fun products.

Stampin' Up!'s Snowman Season card using Splitcoaststamper Sketch 774

These colors of Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana, and Real Red are so fresh.  I'm not so great with combining colors, so when I use Designer Series Paper, I pull my colors from that.  This paper is called Let It Snow and did you know that Stampin' Up! prints the colors used right on the chipboard backing that comes with the paper?  So handy!  The colors are also listed in the catalog in each DSP pack's description.  Each time I order a DSP pack, I check my cardstock in the listed colors to make sure I have enough.  If not, I add a few packs and it ensures NO disappointment!

This snowman is SO happy!  I had to make him even happier by adding Snowfall Accents Puff Paint to the snowballs in the image.  This stuff is magic in a bottle.  Just shake it up, squeeze a bit out, then aim your heat tool at it and watch it puff.  It's addictive.  I have a stack of cards to share using this stuff, because I could not stop playing with it.  Watch the video here to see it in action and to see another card that uses the puff paint on a cloud image.

Purple Posy Ink to be Discontinued

Special Message from Stampin' Up!:

Despite our efforts to resolve issues with Purple Posy ink, we have learned that the ink color is still shifting over time. This means that the color is coordinating more loosely than we typically allow with our colors. Due to these ongoing challenges, we have decided to discontinue Purple Posy classic ink. As of November 5, 2019, the following items will no longer be available to purchase:
Purple Posy Classic Stampin’ Pad (item 150084)
Purple Posy Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill (item 150091)
2019–2021 In Color Classic Stampin’ Pad Assortment (item 150087)

We are unable to replace Purple Posy ink pads for customers or demonstrators who have already received them. However, anyone with concerns regarding the color shifting properties of their Purple Posy ink pads may contact Demonstrator Support and we can offer a $7.50 usd/$10.25 cad coupon code as compensation. The coupon codes will expire on January 1, 2020.
The three item numbers listed above may still appear in the 2020–2021 annual catalog, but will not be available to purchase after November 5, 2019. All other Purple Posy products (such as Purple Posy Stampin’ Write Marker, Purple Posy Cardstock, Purple Posy Stampin’ Blends, etc.) will remain available for purchase.
While it's sad to say good-bye to Purple Posy inks pads and refills, remember that you can use the Stampin' Write Marker to color on your stamps.  You can still have the coordination that sets Stampin' Up! apart, especially since Purple Posy cardstock, ribbon, and Blends are all available.  If you have any questions, always feel free to contact me.

Tiny Purse for 3x3 Note Cards and Envelopes

How was your weekend, friends?  We took a trip to Hershey, PA to watch the state cross country championship meet.  The boys' team from our daughters' school made it as did one girl from the girls' team.  Caitlin runs for Eden's team and went along as her teammate's roommate.  It was such a fun day!  We had a tailgate lunch after the races in our team tent with lots of photos and celebrating.  Then we walked over to Hershey Chocolate World for a tour and some shopping.  Did you know the streetlights in town are Hershey Kisses?  Even the park where the meet was held smelled like chocolate!  Someone told me the company intentionally pipes the aroma around the area but I have not verified that is true.  Whether true or not, it smelled divine!  Better than the sewage plant that used to sit on the course 😜.

On page 30 of the Annual Catalog is a set of 6 tiny note cards using Itty Bitty Greetings that I've wanted to make, but I wanted to gift them so I searched for a holder.  I found a tutorial on Splitcoaststampers for a cute little tote.  Hold on, because I have lots of photos to show you of this treasure!

3x3 note card tote using Stampin' Up!'s Gather Together

Isn't it adorable?  I piled on the layers and added sponging with Soft Suede ink.  The Crumb Cake ribbon is one of two spools in the Come To Gather Ribbon Combo Pack.  I cut a piece in half length-wise to get a frayed look.  That bit of wood embellishment peeking out from behind the ribbon and leaf is a round tree trunk tag from Tags & Feathers Elements.  Did you know you can color on them with Stampin' Blends?  And did you know you can heat emboss them?  Yes!  They are fun to work with!

Peek inside of 3x3 note card tote

You can see how it holds 3x3 sized cards and envelopes.  I fit 6 of each in the tote.

3x3 note cards 1 and 2 using Stampin' Up!'s Come To Gather product suite

To make the 3"x3" note cards, I began with a 12"x12" sheet of Whisper White cardstock.  3" and 9" are where you'll score and 6" is where you'll cut.  That gives you (2) 6" x 12" pieces which you can then cut at 3", 6", and 9".  That gives you 8 note cards, although I used just 6 of them for this project.

3x3 note cards 3 and 4 using Stampin' Up!'s Come To Gather product suite

When making projects like these, I love to pile products on my desk and dive in.  It's inspiring to see it in front of me like that, plus it limits my choices which makes it easier to create.

3x3 note cards 5 and 6 using Stampin' Up!'s Come To Gather product suite

I could hardly stay in my seat while working on this!  It was so exciting to play with the different patterns in the Come To Gather pack and the colors of fall were gorgeous.  Do you know what really made me happy, though?  The sponging on the sentiment dies and the addition of the Basics Holiday Rhinestone Jewels!  That mix of vintage and sparkle makes my heart sing.

Here's the tutorial:

Here's what was on my desk to make this:
