Hello, my joyful friends! Every Thursday at 11 AM ET I go live on The Joyful Stamper Facebook Page. Everyone is invited for a half hour of stamping fun! I've postedthe replay and project sheet below for yesterday's Facebook Live Class projects. Did you know I offer the class kits free? Just place a $35 order (before shipping and tax) by midnight Sunday October 4 and use the Host Code 4JHNU9Z. You can create right along with me! I even included a Shop By Project clickable image at the end of this post!
This first card is called a Joy Fold and I found it on Splitcoaststampers (seriously, an amazing stamping resource). I certainly went over-the-top with this and it was FUN. I was in the stamping zone, experiencing a creative high! Isn't it the best when you lose yourself in what you're doing?
The layers are piled on in the top front fold. All the lovely bits and pieces are from the Magic In This Night suite in the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog. The label is stamped, die-cut, and colored in with Blender Pens. I used Gorgeous Grape and Pretty Peacock ink pads to color the label.
Notice my treatment of the sentiment. I learned these tricks from Elizabeth Price of Seeing Ink Spots, a fellow demonstrator. Using a Water Painter, I brushed on diluted Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, then stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock while the paper was still damp. The dampness caused the words to slightly bleed for a spectacularly spooky look! Then I bent the paper in random directions to create those waves.
You untie the Metallic Mesh Ribbon to begin opening the card. The Pumpkin Pie panel opens to the right, revealing a hint of the inside layers....
Then the left panel opens to reveal the whole showstopping inside! I didn't try to keep the sentiment on the left panel lined up and straight - it's inked in Memento Tuxedo Black and Pretty Peacock and it was a quicky and dirty stamping job. I wanted that imperfection!
The inside is more glorious layers. Isn't this Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper stunning? I get so excited every time I reach for it! It's on sale, by the way, 15% off, as are other paper packs so take a look! The bats are embossed on Basic Black cardstock with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and cut with the Hallows Night Magic dies. The same technique was used on this sentiment as the front "Happy Halloween". I used a Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write marker to splatter those little dots.
❗ ❗ Remember, you can see how this card was made in the Live class replay at the top of this post and on my YouTube channel.
When you cut the card base for the first card (all measurements are in the Project Sheet at the top of this blog post), you're left with a 6-3/4"x8-1/2" piece which is the perfect size to make a slimline card. Score in half at 3-3/8" and fold!
The bottom half is a 3"x4" piece of Black Glitter Paper, die-cut with the bats from Hallows Night Magic dies. But noticed I switched some of the bats with the top and bottom of this card!
Did you know you can use the Hallows Night Magic dies to cut the bats from the Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper? I did that to the top half of this card (a 3"x4" piece), then switched the bats. The entire card was sprayed with a mixture of Champagne Shimmer Paint and 70% rubbing alcohol.
🌞🌞 Joyful Stamper Recipe Tip: 5 drops of the paint in a Stampin' Spritzer, fill the rest of the way with the rubbing alcohol. Use an empty Paper Pumpkin box to store your concoctions and to spray your pieces.
Iridescent Pearls were scattered on the top half. See that little bit of Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim? I used Light Stampin' Blends in Smoky Slate and Highland Heather to quickly brush on some color. I wanted to grunge it up to fit the Halloween theme. The same wet stamping technique as the first card was used for the sentiment here, in Gorgeous Grape.
I wanted to incorporate the Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder so I put a piece on the inside (it, too, has my Champagne Shimmer Paint concoction convering it). I love those spiders crawling up the card!

Hello, my joyful friends! Every Thursday at 11 AM ET I go live on The Joyful Stamper Facebook Page. Everyone is invited for a half hour of stamping fun! You'll find the replay below showing how to make the following Tri-Fold Accordion Card. I also have the dimensions listed below this post.
I first saw this card made by Tina Zinck, a Canadian Stampin' Up demonstrator and thought, "Wow! A fun fold that is easy and lets me use multiple paper patterns!" Often, the patterns are so pretty in a Designer Series Paper pack (DSP) that I can't decide which to use.
I die-cut 2 of the smaller label from the Halloween Magic dies using the wood grain pattern of the Poinsettia Place DSP. The greetings are from Poinsettia Petals and are stamped in Early Espresso ink right on the DSP. One label is glued to the first (front) fold and the second label is glued directly behind it on the second fold. When the card is closed, the second label is hidden behind the first.
I also die-cut from Very Vanilla cardstock and the Ornate Layers Dies a panel for the inside of the card. I love this sprig image from Poinsettia Petals! The sprig outline is stamped in Early Espresso ink and I used the berries fill-in stamp in Real Red ink. This is a great set if you don't want to color because there are many fill-in stamps like this for the leaves and poinsettias, too.
Look at that layered poinsettia!! I die-cut it from Red Velvet Paper and the embossed details are stunning. The Red Velvet embosses so deeply and it adds rich detail. I can't wait to try it with a full-size embossing folder to use as a background! The Beaded Pearl embellishments add a fancy touch to the flower center.
Joyful Stamper Tip: if you don't want the pearls to be white, color them with Stampin' Blends to make them any shade you like.
Another simple detail that takes this card over-the-top is the curling of the petals. To achieve that look, use a Bone Folder, just like curling ribbons for gift wrapped packages (I demonstrate this in the replay beow).
When making the Tri-Fold Accordion Card, you can score the cardstock and fold it like this....
Or you can glue together the panels between the first and second mountain folds so that the card opens like turning the pages of a book.
Tri-Fold Accordion Card Measurements:
Soft Suede Card Base - 5-1/2" x 11"---->>score on the 11" side at 4-1/4", 7", and 9-3/4"

I cannot WAIT to show you how to make this VERY easy fun fold!! And look at all that real estate you have to work with!
I pulled out the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper from the new Holiday Mini Catalog (request a free package) and paired it with the Gather Together Bundle, a returning favorite (it made my Favorites list).
The leaves look stunning die-cut with Brushed Metallic cardstock. I couldn't choose from the bronze, copper, or gold so I used all 3!
I also used the Ornate Frames dies to cut more of the DSP to create 2 labels. One is used as a substrate for the Embroidered Ribbon, hand-cut stamped wheat sheaf, and Gilded Gem. The other label showcases the sentiment and more Gilded Gems.
With a card this dressed up, I couldn't leave the inside naked! I cut a Very Vanilla piece with the largest die from Ornate Layers and stamped it with images from Gather Together in Cajun Craze and Mint Macaron.
So, remember the 3 metallic leaves from the first card in this post? I used their negative space for this one! What is negative space? It's what's left after die-cutting your main shape.
This card is very simple and elegant and came together in under 10 minutes. The paper is from the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper and sits on a Thick Very Vanilla card base. The sentiment was selectively inked in Early Espresso and is from the Gather Together stamp set.

Hello, my joyful friends and stampers! Every Thursday at 11 AM ET I go live on The Joyful Stamper Facebook Page. Everyone is invited! I'll post the replay and project sheet with details below after the Live class.
I'm showing a Double Panel Gate Fold card on today's Live show. I first saw this on Splitcoaststampers and immediately wanted to make this!
It's not a fussy fun fold, which makes it super nice to create. It also uses lots of lovely patterned paper (Designer Series Paper in Stampin' Up! lingo) - and who out there doesn't want to use up DSP?
I used a retired pack called Garden Impressions. It came in 6" x 6" sheets and I just adore these colors together - Night Of Navy, Mango Melody, Shaded Spruce, and So Saffron.
I added a bow with Bumblebee ribbon. This rich, golden yellow is my favorite yet. I'm SO excited to use it with Cinnamon Cider on fall projects!
My main image was trimmed from the retired Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, but you could also stamp and color the bird images from the Free As A Bird stamp set (it's the set my embossed sentiment came from). Trimming images from your DSP is a great time-saver trick!
And here's the opened card. Gotta dress up the inside, too!

Yesterday we saw a Mother's Day fun fold card. You can see it here. But we can't forget about dads or the other special guys in our lives! So let's take a look at how to make a different kind of fun fold for HIM. At the end of this post is a project sheet with measurements and a supply list plus a video showing how to make this card.
It's called a Gate Fold and this is how it looks closed. The manly argyle and plaid patterns are Country Club Designer Series Paper. This combination of Night Of Navy and Garden Green is classic!
The belly band slides off and the card opens from the middle. Score the card base on the long side at 2-1/8" and 6-3/8" to create the gate folds. It's still 4-1/4"x5-1/2" when closed and can fit in a regular envelope.
I had some fun with the inside by stamping in Smoky Slate ink the light beacon image around the sentiment. The images are from High Tide. I love adding fun touches like this! Stamping is so fun! ♥
The lighthouse is stamped in Night of Navy on Whisper White cardstock and trimmed using Paper Snips. The Sahara Sand/Night of Navy Twine (just $2.80 right now!) is wrapped three times around the belly band. The Stitched Nested Labels were cut from Smoky Slate cardstock and the sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings.
Watch the video to see how this fun fold card was made by clicking the image below (card begins at 23:00). The first card in the video is a Mother's Day Fun Fold that you can see in this post).
