Learn To Make Easy Treat Holders!

My local store overbought Reese's Cups and had them for a great price, so I scooped some up to pass out to trick-or-treaters.  Then I saw a fun holder Erica Cerwin of Pink Buckaroo Designs made and it was perfect for all the Reese's Cups I had!  Of course, I had to grunge it up a bit - it's Halloween!  I used the absolutely amazing Hallows Night Magic Bundle and Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper (it's on sale this month!)

Next up is this lollipop holder.  I like to include something fun in my Cards To Go and Creativity Kits, just to surprise and delight and say thank you.  It's fun coming up with a cute design each month!  I used both label dies from the Hallows Night Magic Bundle to cut Cherry Cobbler cardstock and 'Tis The Season 6"x6" Designer Series Paper (this, too, is on sale, and you get 48 sheets!).  The Pine Tree Punch with that paper is fabulous!  This design could easily be turned into a Christmas card!

Email me at nicole@thejoyfulstamper.com by October 11 for this month's kit featuring the Poinsettia Petals Bundle.  Kits are $35 each.  If you'd like to add on the stamp set or Bundle, please include that in your email.  A PayPal payment request will be sent to your email and must be paid within 24 hours.  You do not need a PayPal account to pay - credit and debit cards can be used to pay the invoice.

Saturday Card Sketch 822 - Free As A Bird Sweet & Simple Card

It's time for another card sketch from Splitcoaststampers!  I look forward to these each week because this is how I so often begin a card or scrapbook page.  Sketches are THE BEST for inspiration...big fan here!

What I see when I look at this sketch: 

• There's a large background that could showcase a piece of beautiful Designer Series Paper (some of which is on sale right now!).
• Those two vertical lines could be ribbon or twine wrapped once or twice around the card.
• I've got lots of 1/2" wide strips left over from trimming down cardstock for mats - Layer 4 would be the perfect use for them as sentiment pieces.

  

A cheerful, bright card was what I was feeling so out came this sheet from the Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper pack and the Free As A Bird stamp set.  What could be more cheerful than a sweet little bird?

🌞Joyful Stamper Tip: Look at your dies in fresh ways.  That Cinnamon Cider "nest" is actually a die from Painted Labels!

Poinsettia Petals Easy Christmas Cards

Oooh, I LOVE the soft prettiness of this card!  And I love the clever use of Designer Series Paper (DSP) strips.  My Stampin' Up! team leader Lyssa Zwolanek showed us that trick.  And wouldn't you know, I had some Pointsettia Place DSP strips lying on my desk, leftover from designing October's Creativity Kit (read more about those at the end of this post!).  The strips are 5"x1/2" each.

I embossed a 4-1/8"x5-3/8" piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock with a Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder to create a more interesting background.

My favorite part of this card is the Soft Sea Foam dimensional poinsettia.  The Poinsettia Dies are SO fun to play with!  I stamped them in Mint Macaron, die-cut and stacked them, then heavily brushed on Wink Of Stella to make them SHINE.

Clean and simple cards are always needed at Christmas since most of us are making multiples or sending more cards than normal.  This one is pretty AND simple - I have a hard time stamping in this style so I was jumping out of my chair with excitement over this card!

The card is a Cinnamon Cider 5-1/2"x8-1/2" card base with some berry sprigs stamped in Cinnamon Cider ink.  The sentiment is also stamped in Cinnamon Cider on a 3/4"x2" piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The poinsettia is stamped in Real Red and the leaves in Shaded Spruce, both on Whisper White.  

🌞Joyful Stamper Tip: Get two shades from one ink pad by stamping off.  After inking the image, stamp on scrap paper once (or twice!) before stamping on your cardstock.  I used this technique to fill in the poinsettia and leaves.  The technique is also called generation stamping.

Those red sparkly gems (and the gold ones on the first card) are from the Wonderful Gems pack in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  They add the perfect little touch of glitter!
