Rise and Shine K-Cup Holder + video

Ok, I'm going to be honest.  I've changed over the years.  Camping - in tents -  was a favorite activity of mine as was anything outdoors.  Kayaking, running, hiking, mountain biking - you name it, I loved it.  

Not anymore, though.  Camping is now parking myself on the sofa in the evening curled up under a blanket warming my hands around a mug of hot chocolate!  The family and I did go for a 2 hour walk in the woods Sunday afternoon because it was spectacularly sunny and I enjoyed it........but this homebody was happy to return home where there was no shoe-sucking mud and wayward branches to bat away.  It's funny how when I was very young I thought I'd ALWAYS like and dislike the things I did, and now I feel like a whole different person almost!  Just goes to show, there is always room for improvement and growth and discovering new things.

I mentioned hot chocolate earlier and here's a cute way to give someone a thoughtfully sweet pick-me-up.  It's a K-Cup Holder made with the Sale-A-Bration set Rise and Shine (tomorrow is the last day to get this set free).

Of course, you can use any K-Cup so it could be a coffee or tea pod you put in this holder.  Whichever it is, Rise and Shine has the images and sentiments to fit.

I used 2018-2020 In Colors of Lovely Lipstick and Blueberry Bushel to create this.  These colors are leaving us soon and once the list of retiring items comes out in a few weeks, they will likely be the first things to sell out.  An excellent suggestion is to stock up on your favorite 2018-2020 In Colors now, during Sale-A-Bration, so you can take advantage of the plentiful supplies AND free items.

Rise and Shine Double Pocket Tea Bag Holder + video

Sometimes I feel like I'm walking slightly out of step with everyone else.  Yesterday I shared how I'm a late adopter of things.  Now I'm letting you know that I do not like coffee and never have.  My dad told me I'd start drinking it in college, in order to wake up after a night of studying (or partying, but that wasn't me).  When I didn't take to it in college, he told me I'd start drinking it to wake myself up for work.  Still didn't - instead, I woke myself up with 5 AM marathon-training runs (that out-of-step thing.....).  

I did end up loving tea, though!  I drink tea in the morning, afternoon, and evening.  It isn't just the taste, either.  The ritual of making and enjoying tea is soothing.  I have a cupboard devoted to tea because of my great love for it.

So when I saw the Rise and Shine Sale-A-Bration set (available until March 31) I immediately went looking for a tea bag holder to make.  I found a Double Pocket one and it's SO easy!  

This is the other side of the Double Pocket Tea Bag holder.  It uses a 6"x6" piece of Designer Series Paper so break out those paper pads!  There is zero waste, too!

And here is a side view.  I wanted you to see that little mountain fold in between the two pockets.  That is what allows this to stand up.  Pineapple Punch Grosgrain Ribbon and a bit of Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine keep the pockets tied together.

• Fold diagonally and score at 1/2" with fold to the left
• Score at 5-5/8" with fold to the top

Tags In Bloom Gift Bag + Card

I have three teenage daughters and I'm still the Last Person In America to catch on to something.  It probably has to do with me having my nose in a book or a stamp in my hand the majority of the time.  Which is why I've just now discovered how deeply, disturbingly, profoundly, and gloriously gripping is Stranger Things!  In 3 nights, we've watched all the way to Episode 4 of Season 2 (beginning after Jeopardy! of course).  And as a child of the 80's, it takes me back to the glory days of Pac-Man and feathered hair.  I now want to dress like the mom in that show, much to the horror of my girls.

Tags In Bloom, though, is much more current than what I'm watching on TV.  It's a Sale-A-Bration set, available until March 31.  I made a simple gift bag for my first project.  It's big enough to hold a full-size package of M&M's and it's SO simple to make!

The paper is Pleased As Punch - also available until March 31 - and I've had a BALL playing with this adorable pack.  The top of the gift bag has its sides pinched in so that it can be closed with a ribbon tie (Whisper White Polka-Dot Tulle ribbon used here).

Here's a side view.  Since the gift bag is constructed of a 6"x12" piece of DSP, you get 2 bags from a 12"x12" sheet with zero waste AND it's a fantastic way to use up any paper.

Gift Bag Measurements (with a video below)

• 6"x12" piece of your favorite Designer Series Paper
• Score on the long side at 4", 5-3/4", 9-3/4", and 11-1/2"
• Score on the short side at 1-3/4"
• Snip away the 1/2"x1-3/4" piece as seen in the photo.
• Cut on the score lines up to the 1-3/4" score line

I used the buffalo check pattern in Pleased As Punch for this card and combined it with some Calypso Coral circles die-cut from Stitched Shapes.  While the images on the gift bag were colored with Stampin' Blends, these ones were "colored" by using the solid stamp images in the Tags In Bloom set to fill in the line art images.  I love the bit of daintiness the Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace adds to this card!  The layout came from Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch.

Little Ladybug in Vintage - Bonus Free PDF

Are you a literal stamper?  Or are you an open-to-interpretation stamper?

Put me in the camp of literal stamper.  Grass is green, skies are blue, and ladybugs are red.  But I saw Balmy Blue and Soft Sea Foam together and I really wanted to play with Little Ladybug.  I wrestled with my literal side and pinned her to the mental mat.  Now I was free to take this card wherever I wanted it to go.  Journey with me!

How about some vintage 'bugs?  Soft Sea Foam cardstock sponged with Soft Suede ink is great for creating this look.  Look at the tumbling ladybugs around the card's border!  I stamped those in Mint Macaron. 

That embossed background is a sneak peek of what's coming April 1 - the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.  Isn't it beautiful?  The ladybugs were colored with Dark & Light Balmy Blue and Light Pineapple Punch Stampin' Blends.

Meet Little Ladybug and her friends!  

That flower has me swooning.  I colored it with Stampin' Blends in Dark & Light Pineapple Punch and Dark Mango Melody Stampin' Blends.  Then I added some teardrop enamel shapes to mimic dew (they came in this month's Paper Pumpkin kit).

Look at this little sweetie!  She was colored with a Dark Real Red Stampin' Blend on the outside.  Her belly was colored with Dark & Light Basic Black and Dark Smoky Slate.  Then I went over the center of her belly in circles with the Color Lifter.  

This sketch is the one I followed when making the above card.  I saw those pointed shapes and immediately thought to use the Stitched Nested Labels dies.
